About the Author
Jean Blosser, Ed.D. is Vice President for Therapy Programs and Quality at Progressus Therapy. Dr. Blosser has held academic, clinical, and leadership positions for over 35 years, including Dean, Associate Provost, Professor of Speech-Language Pathology, Director of the University of Akron Speech and Hearing Center, Department Chair, and school-based speech language pathologist.
Dr. Blosser is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Ohio Speech and Hearing Association. She was one of 34 individuals in the United States awarded an American Council on Education Fellowship in 1997-1998, which she served at Florida Gulf Coast University. Jean was the founding Coordinator of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association s Division 10: Issues in Higher Education.

Best Book for New Clinical Fellows or SLPs rejoining a School Setting

We purchase this book for every new speech pathologist who joins our practice to work at a school site. Ms. Blosser's book is written in an easy to read voice and has excellent practical tips and strategies. It seems to fill the gap between what is taught in a graduate program and what is critical in a school setting extremely well. Especially excellent if your district has advocates or challenging legal cases, or if you are working within a district which is improving compliance. Excellent resource - highly recommended.

Bad editing

Really good, practical content for SLP majors. Really poor editing - typos, grammar problems, omissions, extraneous or wrong words, verb agreement issues, plurals... Can't go two pages without errors. Makes reading very difficult at times.
