Auch a fruitful read.

Gender Dysphoria, for me, is a sensitive topic. But this book has given it justice and has given all necessary facts and info on how to help those suffering from Gender Identity Disorder and also those people who are around them, in order to make life easier for them. I find this book very informative and full of meaty explanations too. What one will appreciate the most will be the discussion about the Laws Protecting Transgender Rights. This is such a fruitful read.

Interesting read with a few "open for debate" portions

This is such an interesting read, albeit there were times when I became confused, but maybe because I have a nurse for a sister and she sort of explained things differently to me? First up, the part where the author says gender dysphoria is now treated as a "biological" condition rather than "mental". My sister says that almost all conditions are biological, even mental ones since the medications given to the patients actually tweak something within the person's biology, i.e., hormones. From there things went smoothly until I reached the sex change from male to female. There, at the part of the clitoroplasty the author said: "The clitoris is labeled as the center of erotic pleasure...and without it a person cannot be a genuine female..." Okay, so from what I know, the organ the makes a female a genuine female is the ovary -- and I don't think a surgery to create such organ is available? Besides, I wonder if the clitoris produced by this surgery will actually give sexual pleasure? I mean, can they artificially produce nerves? I'm really curious.
Anyway, this is was an interesting read. Short, but it was able to draw an argument between sisters. Haha.

wonderfully written book

Very impressive! A wonderfully written work, with great research done to provide many facets of information and insight into the world of Gender Dysphoria. the author should be commended for his incredible work in this little-studied area. This book would be a superb reference for health care providers, family members, clergy, youth workers and educators, or anyone affected by or interested in Gender Dysphoria. So much worth reading and recommending book!
